Kwarinkwaringa means Butterfly in Tiwi language. It relates to all butterflies. We see the kwarinkwaringa mostly in dry season time when they eat the flowers that come up after the rain. We have many different types and colours of kwarinkwaringa and Tiwi people believe that sometimes when they see kwarinkwaringa, it gives them a sign – sometimes good sign, sometimes bad sign and usually it’s about family.
