Wartaringa gives us light and life.

Murtakala created the light and the sunshine from the fire stick that she brought up from under the earth. She threw the fire up into the air and it became the sun. 

Wartarinja helps the plants to grow and gives animals energy. Tiwi use the colours of the earth – yellow red and white ochre to paint about country and life. 

Wartaringini Sun Skin tribe is one for the four main clan groups of the Tiwi people.
