Johnathon World Peace Bush has been commissioned to produce one of his biggest projects to date for the Country Road + NGV First Nations Commissions, opening at NGV Australia this March. For the project he was mentored by senior artist Pedro Wonaeamirri over 6 months to produce three large ochre paintings depicting the story of their family’s Country Paluwiyanga (Goose Creek), one tunga (folded bark basket) made by Pedro and painted by Jonathon and a 2 channel video work of Pedro singing and Johnathon dancing Tartuwali (shark dance) on Country. This audio-visual work was produced by Jilamara’s newly formed Wurrungura – multi-media knowledge centre.
