STATION is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new work by Pedro Wonaeamirri. Awirankini jilamara kapi purinjirringuwi: new designs on wood brings together new works, spanning ochre paintings on plywood, Stringybark and tunga (bark bags), continuing the refined linear geometry for which the artist is known. Together the works speak to Wonaeamirri’s understanding of Tiwi living culture and to Japarra, the moon man, who is central to Tiwi understandings of life and death, water and the sea.
