Marntuwuyini (Dugong)

Known alternatively in English as Sea Cow, Marntuwuyini are hunted with harpoon spears along the sea grass areas of the northern coast of the Tiwi Islands, where they graze. They are highly prized for their tender, rich flavoured meat and the fat, that produces oil which is reputed to be good for the hair.
