Pauletta created this etching during a print workshop with Master Printer, Basil Hall in April 2017. In preparation for the workshop, Pauletta visited MAGNT with fellow Jilamara artists to mine the Tiwi Archive to garner inspiration.
In this work Pauletta has referenced an old bark made by Deaf Tommy Mungatopi, which was about the celestial cycle of japarra (the moon) and japalinga (the stars). The barks in the MAGNT collection were gifted by Sandra Le Brun Holmes and are illustrated in her book The Goddess and the Moon Man: The Sacred Art of the Tiwi Aborigines.
